“Paris in Spring” is a visual narrative project that delves into an outsider’s perspective on Parisian life. The photographs were captured during the spring season, documenting both Parisians and visitors as they engage in their daily routines. From commuting to work to relaxing at a café, these images encapsulate the quintessential Parisian lifestyle.
This predominantly street photography project is characterized by its spontaneity and anonymity. The images were primarily taken outdoors, in different arrondissements with scenes selected based on their inherent spontaneity. For instance, pedestrians walking to secure a spot for lunch or a couple sharing a kiss at the entrance of a bistro. Some of the images were captured within the renowned Parisian passages, as well as the surrounding cafés and lunch establishments. The iconic Parisian Metro is also featured, as it plays a significant role in the daily life of the city. Despite its reputation as a global tourist destination, the City of Light in this project is almost devoid of any images of tourist attractions, which is the sole deliberate choice in this project. Selecting Paris during the spring season appeared to be the optimal time for capturing this narrative. Having visited Paris at various times in the past, the city seems more vibrant and alive during the spring. The cafés are bustling, and people are out and about throughout the day and into the evening. Although the project can be applied to any city worldwide, Paris appears to be the epitome of the art of living, as it seamlessly blends aesthetics, café culture, and emotional freedom.
