The photographs were captured during the spring season, documenting both Parisians and visitors as they engage in their daily routines. From commuting to work to relaxing at a café, these images encapsulate the quintessential Parisian lifestyle. This predominantly street photography project is characterized by its spontaneity and anonymity. The images were primarily taken outdoors, in different arrondissements with scenes selected based on their inherent spontaneity. For instance, pedestrians walking to secure a spot for lunch or a couple sharing a kiss at the entrance of a bistro. Some of the images were captured within the renowned Parisian passages, as well as the surrounding cafés and lunch establishments. The iconic Parisian Metro is also featured, as it plays a significant role in the daily life of the city. Despite its reputation as a global tourist destination, the City of Light in this project is almost devoid of any images of tourist attractions, which is the sole deliberate choice in this project. Selecting Paris during the spring season appeared to be the optimal time for capturing this narrative. Having visited Paris at various times in the past, the city seems more vibrant and alive during the spring. The cafés are bustling, and people are out and about throughout the day and into the evening. Although the project can be applied to any city worldwide, Paris appears to be the epitome of the art of living, as it seamlessly blends aesthetics, café culture, and emotional freedom. From the fundamental need for protection against the elements to the creation of art and architecture that shaped edifices and structures, human habitation has been a driving force behind progress. The construction of buildings has been a constant endeavor since the dawn of time. A house, for instance, serves as a sanctuary, providing shelter and safety to its inhabitants. Similarly, cathedrals and temples fulfill humanity’s spiritual aspirations, offering a space for worship and devotion. Architecture emerged as a distinct discipline when humanity began not only constructing edifices but also creating them with a purpose. However, the psychological connection between humanity and architecture is particularly relevant to the objectives of this project. Humanity and architecture are deeply intertwined, each serving a specific purpose. A large plaza, for example, fosters interaction and evokes a sense of freedom through its expansive design. A home or office, on the other hand, provides a sense of security and shelter. High-rise structures in metropolitan centers can evoke feelings of insignificance or oppression when traversed, while churches offer a sense of peace and comfort. Alternatively, they can serve as perceived paths or portals, guiding individuals through their journeys. Even traces of humanity, even when absent, can be perceived, and temporary structures can serve specific purposes. Every architectural structure possesses a purpose and function, striving to be practical while considering aesthetics within its architectural era. This era is defined by the materials, technology, and cultural values of the location where the structure is situated.
